New Eggs!!! (Our first white egg on the farm!)

Our "babies" from last fall have just started laying! We got out first white egg from Tilly this morning. We have only collected brown eggs from all of our breeds and the blue egg from our Eater Egger...so now our collection has all the colors:)! Pictured above is Tilly's very first egg being compared to farm fresh eggs that are store bought. Also a picture of the mystery dark brown speckled egg...not sure if it's Frost Fur or Honey's first egg. But it is impressively dark, almost as dark as a BCM.

Our Winter Flock

The flock has had a really easy winter so far with very little snow. We are in Upstate NY and our usual low temps and snow have been replaced by spring like weather for most of the season. Thankfully, although eggs totals for the day have fallen, we are still getting enough to enjoy farm fresh eggs for breakfast every morning! Our water heater bowls have worked well and the girls are still able to graze on grass. All in all it's been a great winter for chickens!
